Yeah...the ideas mentioned are a little disheartening. I'm not surprised that the Eidolons were intended to represent something personal for each character, but Odin = Dad is boringly conventional and the Shiva sisters thing is just...not something I want to think about too deeply!
OTOH I do wonder what Hecatoncheir is supposed to represent, if anything--its design is kinda out there. The only thing I could come up with was Oerba, with the many arms that protect Vanille representing how she felt living in the community?
...I guess I shouldn't bag on SE for lacking originality, huh. XD
